Breckenridge ski resort – One of the most visited resorts in winter.

The resort is also known as Breckenridge or Breck in short. Every millions of tourist from all over the world come here to experience the myriad skiing activities that Breck has to offer. The mountain resort is owned and also operated by Vail Resorts Company. This company is also famous for operating three other resorts by the name of Beaver, Creek and Keystone. There are different peaks ranging from simple to relatively dangerous. For example, there is Peak 10 which is situated at the southernmost end of the resort. This peak is a little bit on the intermediate level. Then there is also Peak 9 which is again rated at the intermediate level. However the beginners start from the start of Peak 9. Peak 8 is also good and it can be accessed from three points. Then there is Peak 7 that can be accessed from the Independence Superchair.

There are lifts available to ferry passengers to the top of the peaks. The resort also boasts of the highest lift in North America by the name of Imperial Express Superchair. The lift can ferry passengers to a height of 12,840 feet. To accommodate more people at the same time, plans were made to start the construction of gondola in March, 2006. Construction was completed by the end of the year and there was a grand opening of the gondola in January, 2007. Today the gondola ferries people from downtown Breckenridge to Peak 7 and Peak 8. Hence it has become a very good substitute for the bus transportation system used before. The huge lift has a maximum capacity of 3,000 people and it takes just 7.5 minutes to ferry passengers to the top of Peak 8.

The resort also has lodging options as well as a restaurant, lounge and bar for the tourists. Other amenities are available as well like masseuses and also Jacuzzis and hot water pools.
