Westgate Resorts is in fact a timeshare company, which is under the control of David Siegel. Siegel was involved in the investment market in the 1970s. He also owned a real estate firm. Today Westgate Resorts is the largest privately owned company in the world. The company today employs more than 10,000 people in the United States alone.

The company, as mentioned before was launched in Florida. Then it expanded its operations to Miami, Las Vegas, Nevada, Mesa, Mississippi, Arizona and Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. The company’s Wild bear Falls Water Park is one of the largest parks in the United States. The park uses 300,000 gallons of water to operate everyday. The park recently opened in March, 2007. It is frequented by thousands of tourists every single day. There is also a restaurant serving a variety of cuisines catering to the tastes of tourists from different backgrounds and cultures. There is also an electronic game room for the kids.

The water rides include major attractions like the lazy river as well as another 900 foot lazy river, 360 foot body slide and a 300 foot tube slide. All the above slides are most frequented by the tourists. Small children have no need to worry. There are toddler pools as well as water rides for small children. There is a tree house that splashes water on the tourists below once in a while and takes them by surprise.

There are some huge future plans for Westgate. The company is planning for a mega project where it will build Planet Hollywood Towers which will be 52 stories high. This will be the only timeshare property in the world that will be directly connected to the casino strip. There will be 2,000 luxury vacation villas constructed for the tourists and 32 luxury condominiums. The estimated cost of the project will be $1 billion.

The Westgate GardenWalk is a also a very good recreation park which is situated next to the Disneyland Resort. The guests will get a spectacular view of Disneyland from the GardenWalk. There are also very good beach resorts constructed by the company, the best amongst them being the Myrtle Beach Resort.
